This is just a short note to say that yesterday night, we camped at a place called Little Yellowstone Park, and it was along a creek that feeds into the Sheyenne River, and it was full of trees, and for the first time in what feels like a million years we went to sleep to the sound of running water. I was so delighted. I didn’t even realize how much I was missing that.
And because there were actually a LOT of trees, all around, for the first time in another million years we were able to sleep handily past like 5:30, because the sun didn’t beat down on us mercilessly at ridiculous hours of the morning and heat up our tent like a furnace that we needed to eject ourselves from with much haste.
So, last night was pretty fricken great. And we slept till like 8am, and had a leisurely morning all in the shdae, and are now continuing the leisure in Enderline, ND with this library stop — though soon now maybe we’ll rally for lunch and onward. This may be our last night in North Dakota!
